In 1939, when she was just a sophomore at Lake George High School, Barbara (Parsons) Langworthy, Class of 1941, wrote the iconic words to our school’s Alma Mater.
This is the same Alma Mater that has been sung for the past 84 years at graduations, Moving Up ceremonies, basketball games, and more. With that being said, the Lake George Alumni Association thought that it was long overdue to honor the enduring legacy that Barbara created for the Lake George community all those years ago.
Therefore, on the eve of her 100th birthday this year, the Lake George Alumni Association is proud to announce that we have unanimously passed a resolution honoring Barbara’s unequivocal contribution to connecting all those who have walked the Lake George High School. Below is a copy of our resolution, a recent picture of Barbara (who is still doing well!), as well as the lyrics to our beloved Alma Mater.
On behalf of the Lake George Alumni Association, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations and well wishes as Barbara celebrates this incredible milestone and recognition with her family and friends!
